DIY Of The Week: Soda Bottle Bird Feeder

DIY projects don’t have to be complicated or expensive. This one uses materials you probably already have on hand. If you make this bird feeder from Kelly Leigh Creates, tag us on instagram and show us the birds it brings to your backyard!

Materials Needed:

Plastic bottle (20 oz works well)

Two wooden spoons

Sharpie marker

Craft knife

Scissors

Floral wire

Directions:

With a sharpie marker, draw a small circle on one side of the bottle about 4 inches from the bottom. Cut it out {using a craft knife} and make sure the end of the spoon fits snugly into the hole. Directly opposite this hole, cut a slightly larger hole {using a craft knife and scissors}. Make sure the big end of the spoon can rest in the hole.

Repeat this process approximately 2 inches from the bottom of the soda bottle, but use the opposite sides of the bottle so your spoons are at a 90 degree angle to one another.

Fill the bottle with bird seed. Use the floral wire to create a loop to hand the feeder. Put the cap back on the bottle and hang in a tree. Wait for birds to appear!
